Why We Built LynURL

URL shorteners have been around for over a decade, but the landscape hasn't changed much. The tools most teams rely on were designed in a different era — before UTM tracking was standard practice, before QR codes became a daily touchpoint, and before teams needed real-time analytics across hundreds of campaigns.

We built LynURL because we were tired of paying enterprise prices for basic features, wrestling with clunky dashboards, and dealing with tools that treated link management as an afterthought. LynURL is the URL shortener we always wanted: fast, transparent, and built for the way modern teams actually work.

LynURL is an open, modern URL shortening platform designed for marketing teams, developers, and growing businesses. It combines the simplicity of a quick link shortener with the depth of a full analytics and campaign management tool.

Key Features

Instant Link Shortening

Create short, branded links in seconds. Paste a URL, customize the slug if you want, and you're done. Every link comes with built-in click tracking from the moment it's created.

Advanced Analytics

Review measured UTC daily clicks and recorded-event geography, device, browser and referrer breakdowns where available. Filter supported date ranges and export measured period totals. Unmeasured visitor counts, recent-minute activity and unavailable historical analytics are shown as unavailable.

Custom Domains

Branded-subdomain activation is currently pending. Existing eligible Pro and Premium accounts retain allowances of 3 and 10 subdomains respectively; this release does not present them as active customer domains.

QR Code Generation

Basic local QR previews and public downloads are available for short links without using saved slots. Local tools retain their supported PNG, SVG and PDF exports and plan-supported logo customization. Use Saved QR Codes to save a PNG or SVG for an owned live link once, then download that same file again without using another slot. Saved artifacts do not embed logos; eligible Pro and Premium accounts can choose saved colors.

Team Collaboration

LynURL is built for teams from the ground up. Invite team members, assign roles and permissions, and manage links across your organization. See who created which links, track team-wide performance, and keep your link library organized with tags and folders.

Developer-Friendly API

Integrate LynURL into your workflows with our RESTful API. Create links programmatically, retrieve analytics data, manage custom domains, and automate your link management. SDK source previews for TypeScript, Python, and Go have local installation instructions alongside API documentation.

Bitly Import

Switching from another provider? Our Bitly import tool lets you migrate your existing links, including tags and metadata, in just a few clicks. No links lost, no redirects broken.

Our Free Tier

We believe every team deserves access to professional link management tools. That's why LynURL's free plan includes:

• 10 links live at once — edit, retire, and replace them as your campaigns change
• 5 saved QR codes held at once — Free saved PNG/SVG artifacts use black on white without embedded logos; basic local exports remain separate
• Basic analytics with geographic and device data
• Bitly import, so switching costs you nothing

The Free plan is available without a card or a paid-plan trial. Its held link and saved QR capacity has no automatic monthly refill. Removing a QR record frees a slot only when it has a verified reservation; older records do not silently repair historical capacity.

New paid subscriptions and self-service billing are temporarily unavailable. Existing eligible Pro accounts at $9/month retain 100 links and 50 saved QR codes; existing eligible Premium accounts at $29/month retain 1,000 links and 500 saved QR codes. Saved QR allowances are held capacity, and repeated downloads reuse the same artifact. Existing eligible paid features remain available; branded-domain activation is currently pending.

Analytics report measured UTC daily clicks and recorded-event breakdowns where available. Recent-minute counts, separate QR scan totals and unavailable historical measurements are not presented as measured values. This release makes no monthly click cutoff or service-level guarantee promise. See pricing for current allowances and availability.
